Time For Thanksgivings Menus

This year there have been less magazines with Thanksgiving menus. I should have kept last years that were filled with great untraditional menus. I like to mix it up a few traditional recipes and then a dish or two of something new. I was very happy with my electronic newsletter from Bon Appetit.  Here is the link   www.bonappetit.com/recipes/guides/thanksgiving  You can choose from many different recipes and then go shopping. Got a newsletter this week from Trader Joe's and it seems if you do not want to cook they have it ready for you to pick it up. From garlic potatoes to pumpkin pie cheese cake. There is a shopping list on the back page so you can check off what you want to buy at the store.

My big wish is that you bake your turkey so your home is full of great aromas to help the family celebrate the holiday. Families and holidays can be all about the great smells. Fill your home with great aromas and you fill your family with more than food.

I will be talking this week about how to create your family cookbook in one day this Saturday in celebration of the launch of MGS’ new cookbook Recipes of Our Ancestors, join the MGS Writing Group for this special free class on Saturday November 13 at 10:30 a.m. at  1185 Concord St. N. Suite 218 South St. Paul, MN

Lessons learned in creating my cookie cookbook... you need to down size the number of pixels so that your memory does not get too big. All my photos will be exchanged with smaller files.

Hi Hella, I was looking forward to your talk this morning in South St. Paul but because of the weather I decided not to chance it. Please let me know if you have another talk. I've been wanting to do our family cookbook for years and just didn't know how to start. Sounds like you have some great ideas.
