What I learned this week:

I learned this week that pomegranates do not have all those wonderful antioxidants that were suppose to be there. It is not the super fruit. Good-Bye pomegranate martinis. The FDA disputed the studies that the POM people put out.

I learned that cage free chickens are not open to wonder around the farm but can be stuff into large cages rather than individual cages. And organic only means they were fed organic feed. This effects my organic free-range eggs that I buy. I am still wondering who funded this two-year study. Of course, you can tell that a lot about studies by who funded them and I am getting very cynical these days.

Finally I learned that they FTA is going to make marketers substantiate their claims of eco-friendly goods. Consumers are requesting better enforcement of the claims and FTA is creating translation of terms that all companies must adhere to. This will all start the first of the new year.
