*shop wisely
*follow a meal plan (60% of what is purchased from meals is never made
*shop more frequently
*buy fewer items per trip
*buy locally when possible (2 weeks from growers to super market)
*plan a head- buy for the freezer
* use left overs in meal plans
*compost
*make it a house project to reduce waste
