Spice is the Recipe for a Great Life
Recently reading an article in Bon Appetite listed every spice that would be in your spice cabinet as something that would help your health. I am now confused how much I should be using. I love ginger and use it often. I have a bit cinnamon everyday either on my oatmeal, red river or cottage cheese. I try to add ½ teaspoon to a full one. I am not sure that is enough to do anything accept make the meal taste good. The article said that in clinical trials ginger, pepper and cumin helped with diabetes and heart disease. But I still do not know how much is enough.
Then ginger, garlic and fenugreek help reduce the fat absorbed in your body. Sounds good but what is fenugreek? And more importantly, how do I use it?
Chili increases you metabolic rate. I love chilies and eat something hot at least once a day, most days. Is that enough?
Someone contact Jack Turner who wrote the article and find out how much spice I need add to my life to make everything nice. Here is the link: the_spice_of_life
If I want to put recipes in my cookbook should I increase the amount of spices so that some of the old recipes might be considered healthy.
