A Recipe for Great Memories
I had lunch with a old friend last week and I ordered a salad that I had not eaten in years. It was a chopped deli salad. It came with corned beef, salami, turkey and swiss cheese and I ordered 1000 island dressing on the side just like when I was a kid. This was a salad that I ordered and ate when I was growing up at the Deli next to my family's bakery, Stanely's. I had not eaten that salad in 30 years. I loved it then and I loved it now. Low and behold, I was back in Cincinnati this week end and I drove by where the bakery had been. I had to smile as the memories started flowing of all those times where I had eaten at Stanely's. I was taken back there with each bite of that salad and then physically being there was a great experience made more appreciative by my eating the salad the week before. Memories and food what a great way to visit the past with one bite.<meta name="verify-v1" content="oRmDJoHV119WSaEkDEQ2D84en7Rer9G0eNyfAaxYWRc=" />
