Collecting Recipes

As I teach Heirloom Cookbook writing I often use America's Best Lost Recipes almost as a textbook. The book has  simple stories with each recipe and recipes that might have been lost unless these efforts had been pursued. I also like that the  book lies flat so that it is easy to use.

Well the are at it again looking for more recipes.  New Rescue Project: America's Best Lost Suppers
What's for dinner tonight? Why not turn to our mothers' and grandmothers' collective recipe boxes? The editors of Cook's Country are asking home cooks across the country to submit their favorite family suppers—old-fashioned meals that are simply too good to forget. The best recipes will be published in AMERICA'S BEST LOST SUPPERS. The grand prize winner will receive $10,000 and an all-expenses paid trip for two to Vermont to watch the taping of Cook's Country TV. Submit your entry now. Deadline is September 1, 2008.

There is not much time left if you have some of these recipes to submit but I feel good that at least you know about it.
