It's Blueberry Time
The Northwoods are full of blueberries this year. I went out Saturday for an hour in the rain and picked a quart of wild blueberries. They have been put in the freezer to be used for blueberry pancakes. I plan to go out this next Saturday again and pick some more for jam and pies. These are the tiny berries that are so sweet. The recipes I have are not passed down from family but ones that we have gotten from magazines and cookbooks over the years. My family cookbook would contain these recipes that I use and not only the ones my family growing up used. Of course, you can make your own choices about that. I would invite you to help pick them but I think the bears and the neighbors are big enough competition for these berries.
